Abstract

External changes in vagina and pelvic ligaments during advanced gestation are considered to be the signs of approaching parturitions in cattle, while the udder secretions prior to parturition change from honey-like dry secretion to yellow turbid, opaque secretion, referred to as colostrum (Roberts, 1971 ). The present study was carried out to see, whether the l changes in udder secretions corroborate with above pattern and if these could be considered as an
indicator of parturition.
