Abstract

Seven cyclic Assam local goats were treated with exogenous hormone regime (750 i.u. PMSG : 5 mg PGF2alpha: 1500 i.u. HCG) for superovulation. The mean time of induction and duration of oestrus was 19.08 ± 1.23 and 33.57 ± 0.67 hours respectively. The mean number of follicles matured and ovulated per animal were 13.43 ± 2.36 and 10.24 ± 2.75 respectively, the rate of ovulation was 72.36 ± 9.40 per cent.
