About the Journal

The Indian Journal of Animal Reproduction (IJAR) is the official journal published by The Indian Society for the Study of Animal Reproduction (ISSAR). The first issue of IJAR was published in the year 1981. Dr. A. S. Kaikini was the founder Editor of this Journal. Currently, the journal is being published quarterly (March, June, September and December).

The Indian Journal of Animal Reproduction is being indexed in Scopus (SJR: 0.236, Q3), CABI, ICI, Cross Ref, Google Scholar and Base. The current NAAS rating of IJAR is 4.13.

About the Society

The Indian Society for Study of Animal Reproduction (ISSAR) was established in Nov, 1972 during FAO follow up seminar on animal reproduction at Bangalore. Dr C.R. Sane was the founder president of the society with a total of 26 members in 1972. The first symposium was organized in 1977 at PAU, Ludhiana. Thereafter, annual convention cum national or international symposium is being organized regularly. The life membership has reached to more than 3500 in 2024. The society publishes its official journal, Scopus indexed “The Indian Journal of Animal Reproduction” (IJAR) biannually (June and December).
